FAQ

  • Is Metro Art Studios open to the public?
We are only open to the public on specific days each year, when we open our studios and invite you to visit us. The rest of the year we are hard at work, just like any other professionals. Open Studios occur in March, April, May, June, September, October, November, and December each year. Dates are posted on the home page of our website.
  • Can artists live at Metro Art Studios?
No, Metro Art Studios are only for working. There are no live-in lofts at Metro Art Studios, but there are many cool apartments available in the South End and nearby Downtown. It's a great neighborhood to live and work in.
  • How do I rent a space at Metro Art Studios?
Fill out an application (found on the Studios page) to be placed on the waiting list. When there is a vacancy, we will be in touch about arranging a tour of any available space. Studios are not filled on a first come, first serve basis, but rather a selection committee meets with and interviews eligible candidates to find the best fit for the community. Studios are rented to visual fine artists with a professional practice.
  • I would like to show my art at the Gallery, how does that work?"
The Gallery, on the first floor of Metro Art Studios, presents a mix of invitational and juried exhibitions. Stay tuned for announcements about prospecti for upcoming shows! Once yearly a guest curator is chosen to create a special exhibit.
